Hello, I'm new to the area and don't know a lot about salt water fishing. I
am now living in Virginia beach about 20 mins. from the Sandbridge pier.

What gives???? I have been jonesing for some pullage on the pier this season and don't want to waste a drive down from Richmond if nothing is biting. I haven't seen any new post here for over a month. Has teh encroachment of the sand bar really shut fishing from the pier down or has VB killed it off with incompetence as predicted??? Any news is good news.

i fished the surf at sandbridge april 5th and 6th the weather was not very good and the fishing was hard.
i feel as if the surf is too shallow and you need to be able to cast out a distance in order to catch anything.
i am looking into getting the daiwa bg30h is there any information i could get about casting reels? what kind of reels work well and get the job done.
was wondering as well if i was to add braided line to the reel first so i have backing should i add a small amount of electric tape so it will catch? and what pound test would be best to use?

Etending the pier?

Has anyone heard any rumblings about the possibility of extending the pier? I know it was on the radar scope several years back, but no action was ever taken. With the sand piling up (especially after Irene last year) the 600 ft pier is way to short to do any quality fishing anymore. I saw a comment earlier that stated the end of the pier was only chest deep. If this is the case, then why bother fishing it anymore? The best you can do now is spot, roundheads, croaker and if you're lucky maybe a drum or two. When the Spanish and Blues return, it will be difficult at best to try and cast out far enough to reach them unless they are hunting in the surf. I've never fished Oceanfront so I'm not sure if it is any better. It would be awesome if Virginia would invest in a pier like the ones located on the Gulf Coast, but we can always dream right? Navarre on the Florida panhandle just invested in a 1600+ ft pier with hurricane blowout panels and even a snack/tackle shop. Santa Rosa county footed the bill locally and they spent about 15 million on the project. The pier extends into deep water (about 45 ft at the end) and regular catches of larger palegics are common. Check it out here: http://navarrepier.com/ It would be nice if we could get something like that here!

Fairly new (4mos) Ipad 2 not charging even while using the wall charger adaptor?
When plugged to a wall socket using the original wall adaptor included in the box, my Ipad 2 is not charging. It does not say 'not charging', the battery indicator stays the same, no indication of any charges being done at all. Usually it blinks or will indicate that charging is in progress. Any idea what the issue could be and how to fix it ? Thank you in advance.

----------------

ipad 2 cover leather ipad 2 cases ipad2case
